I am going to India, can I visit a Karuna Project?

Karuna is able to arrange a limited number of supporter visits to our projects in Mumbai and the Indian Himalayas. The safety of the children at our projects is such a priority that we ask all visitors to complete a check by the Criminal Records Bureau, which we will organise for you (though we will ask you to cover any cost). The process will also involve a visit to the Karuna office in London where you can meet with our project officers and learn more about our work before your visit to India. This will all take some time, so we ask you to contact us at least three months ahead of your planned trip. Please contact Sandra Powell at sandra@karuna.org.

I would like to complete a Gift Aid Declaration, how can I do that?

Download the Gift Aid Declaration form, print it out and send it to us.

I would like to increase my donation to Karuna. How do I do this?

If you donate by standing order then you can either ask your bank directly to change this amount or you can fill in a new standing order form and send it to us. The new form will then replace your old standing order. If you donate by Payroll Giving you will need to contact your Payroll Giving provider If you donate by C.A.F Standing order you will need to contact C.A.F If you donate using Justgiving then you can change your donation via the Justgiving website

I would like to volunteer for Karuna in India, is this possible?

At the moment it is unfortunately not generally possible to volunteer in India with Karuna. This is for several reasons. Firstly we do not have a volunteering programme set up, so we are unable to guarantee the conditions you would be working under, and in some parts of India we would not be able to guarantee your safety. Secondly one of our aims is to build the confidence and capacity of our partner organisations in India. For this reason it would be inappropriate to be sending westerners into some of these organisations. Thirdly it would incur significant costs to the charity. If you would like to volunteer in India the Amida Trust operate a programme. Alternatively you may try VSO. Also see "I am going to India, Can I visit a Karuna Project?"

  • If you donate by Direct Debit you can stop your donations by contacting us or contacting your bank.
  • If you donate by Payroll Giving you will need to contact your Payroll Giving provider
  • If you donate by C.A.F Standing order you will need to contact C.A.F
  • If you donate using Justgiving then you can cancel your donations via the Justgiving website.
