Kolkata Christmas
The Karuna School in Kolkata was founded eight years ago by a Buddhist monk called Buddhapriya. Until recently his organisation ran calsses and a health clinic for 50 children in a tiny hut near the edge of the City.
Now, with the help of a grant from The Karuna Trust they have completed a new building which provides a high standard of accommodation for 100 destitute children.
"I am very thankful that you have agreed to provide substantial funding for our building project. It is very good news for the development of our work for destitute girls and boys. My blood and flesh, brain and heart are an offering for the good of the many, for the welfare of the destitute children. As a monk I need very little myself, and these children really do need a lot of help. Please pass on my thanks to your supporters."
