Access
Marginalized people remain excluded from mainstream society without access to decent education.
Most have neither the awareness that another life is possible nor the skills or confidence to achieve it. It is education, more than anything else, that helps people to take control of their lives and break out of the poverty cycle.
- Village Schools
- Slum kindergartens and after school study classes that help poor children to succeed in school
- Urban educational hostels that allow village children to continue their education in a supportive environment.
Quality
Karuna also works to improve the quality of education that the state provides, through means such as:
- English language radio programmes to boost learning in rural areas
- Curriculum development
Rights
Karuna also helps groups that are lobbying the government to provide better educational services, especially for marginalized groups.
