This project works with 200 landless families in the remote rural district of West Champaran in Northern Bihar.

Families who were previously dependent on low-wage agricultural labour are supported to achieve greater financial security through new vegetable growing enterprises. The project trains villagers in improved farming methods, enabling them to make better use of the small plots of land available to them, and supports them in organising themselves into collective enterprises, giving them access to new markets for their produce.

Increased income enables beneficiary families to become more empowered and able to invest in their children’s education.
