This hostel which provides accommodation and educational facilities for children of disadvantaged and impoverished families from the 'Pardhi' tribal community, many of whom are migrants doing low-paid, unskilled, seasonal work. Many of the families live in areas affected by drought, earthquakes or flooding.
Without the hostel children would be less likely to attend school or they would drop out early. Most of their parents have received very little education themselves and they do not prioritise sending their children to school. This means that children are often required to work alongside their parents to supplement the family income. These hostels are enabling children to complete their education and find better-paid jobs and a brighter future.
